Configure Mobi Settings
It is possible to configure settings from Moveware, and also from within the Mobi app itself.
Review the video and the instructions below for more information about how to configure Mobi settings for individual users and user groups.
How to Configure Mobi Settings in Moveware
Navigate to Administration > ‘Company’ Setup > Mobi.
Next, select the group for which you would like to make changes.
In the top left-hand corner, you can then decide what type of changes you would like to make: Menu, Setting, or Report.
Double-click on the Value field of the relevant setting to toggle through the different options.
The Value column shows the setting currently selected, while the Options column shows all the different options available to choose from. Any settings that have been adjusted from the default will appear in red. The asterisk * symbol indicates the default setting.
How to Configure Mobi Settings in Mobi
The Settings Screen in Mobi allows you to configure the usage, connectivity, and look of the interface. Depending on your permissions, some settings might be non-editable. These will appear greyed-out, are not selectable, and can only either changed by either Moveware staff or users with sufficient permissions.
Please contact your Moveware Admin for more information if you cannot edit a specific setting.
Navigate to Menu > Tools > Settings.
Here you can search for keywords or scroll through the list until you find the desired setting. If you are unsure of what each setting refers to, selecting the setting will display a detailed description and recommended settings.
To adjust settings, simply select the desired setting from the lookup menu or adjust the on/off toggle where relevant.
How to Change Permissions
How to Set Mobi Language
Navigate to Administration > Company Setup > Codes.
Search for the Type Setting and Code LangSyncTables to then Activate it.
On the field “Answers”, enter as many tables (from Language Management) as you need, separating them with a comma.
All the tables will be passed onto Mobi, depending on the language selection of the user/group/general selected.
Admin vs non admin settings:
Some settings are by default set as an admin only setting, which means it can only be controlled through Moveware (so the user cannot change the value of the setting in Mobi). You can change these settings to be editable in mobi, allowing users to independently adjust specific settings in Mobi.
An example below on modifying a time sheeting interval setting form being an admin only setting to an application editable setting:
Step 1: In Moveware Navigate to Administration > Company Set up
Step 2: Select Codes
Step 3: Search for “Timesheet Interval”
Step 4: Adjust Admin only setting.
If Admin Only= Yes, then setting is only controlled through the Moveware Mobi menu.
If Admin Only= blank then setting can be changed in Mobi as well as in Moveware.
How to Configure Mobi Settings for Individual Users
The settings for individual users are changed in exactly the same way, but from the menu: Employee > Employee Management (Keyboard Shortcut: Ctrl + E). Next, search for the employee in the list. Once the correct employee has been found, select the Groups tab (see image below).
Here you can change the settings for this specific user as differing from the group settings in general, for the menus that will appear to this user, the general settings and the reports. The values are changed by double-clicking and in this case the value will appear in red when differing from the settings of the group.
How to Configure Mobi Settings for User Groups (Crew or Surveyor)
Changing the settings for the entire group is done in the Administration > Your Company System Setup > Groups menu we have been discussing above.
Any values that are changed and thus vary from the default Moveware settings will appear in red as you can see in the image of the last paragraph.
How to Change or Add User Menu Options
Different menu options can be configured for each group. You can do this in Code Management, located in: Administration > System Setup > Codes:
The menus available for Mobi are listed in Code Management, selecting ´Menu´ in the upper left dropdown menu:
Here we can edit existing menus or add new ones.
The Parent Menu field shows in which screen the menu would be available. Also, we can change the order of appearance in Mobi.
On the bottom right side, the key actions are listed in which each menu should display. In the example above, the “Account” menu is available to all jobs that have one or more of the key actions listed after ‘HIDE,’. For any key actions not listed here, the Account menu will not display.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Having access to all Key actions has been configured as a standard – however, the standard can be modified for each client. For example, if a client needs to see the account menu on the Pack action (which has a Key Action of Pack), simply add Pack to the list and Save:
Default
If this field has a value then that means it is a Review Menu; you will see in be image below that the value is added in the field ´Review Type´. The configuration of the Review Menus is discussed in paragraph 7
Sort
This number decides the (relative) order of appearance.
Status
Changing the status affects if the particular menu appears as eligible in the group settings.
