Post a Journal

Journal entries are posted to the General Ledger automatically from several Moveware modules. These may be status N (unposted) or status U (posted), depending on how the Journals have been created and how the system is configured via the General Ledger System Parameters.

What does posting a journal do? 

Posting a journal changes its status from N to U and updates the balance records of the affected General Ledger accounts.

Manually created journal entries can be posted to the General Ledger individually, or in multiple entries from the Journals tab of the General Ledger Journals module. See Posting an (Individual) Journal Record and Posting All (Multiple) Journals for instructions.

Recurring Journals can also be posted as an individual entry, or as multiple entries. Recurring Journals are posted from the Recurring tab of the General Ledger Journals module. See Post a Recurring Journal and Post Multiple Recurring Journals for instructions.
