Remote Application

Remote Application

Once you have logged into the system, you have two means to access the Moveware application

  • Using the Desktop Application (if available)

  • Using the Moveware Remote Application (if available)

The Desktop application experience is straight forward where you are inside another windows environment and have access to all desktop features, however the remote application experience mimics the experience as if the application was on your local system.

If the Remote App is available for your system, you should be able to see the Moveware Remote App shortcuts together with the Desktop shortcut in your remote workspace.

The following remote apps are available:

  • Moveware, Microsoft Office, Moveware Docs folder (Z drive), and Desktop

To use the remote app, you just double-click on the remote app that you would like to use

  • Moveware remote app (It will show as your company name)

  • Moveware Docs folder

  • The same with Microsoft Office

  • On the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, you can see the remote app shortcut which you can pin it to your taskbar by right-click on it and then select ‘Pin to Taskbar’

Limitations of using the Remote Applications

Take note there are limitations when using the Moveware Remote App.

There may be cases where the default application for some files e.g., PDF, PNG will have to be changed to your referred application. For example, when you open the PDF file it might open the file using MS Edge web browser, if you prefer to open it with FoxIt PDF Reader then you will have to set that as a default application.

Also note when opening/saving files – it is not on your local desktop machine. The application will review the contents of the remote desktop server it belongs to.
