Record Locking Admin


In Moveware, it is possible to identify the user locking a record via the session ID using the record locking tool. When a user receives a “record is locked” message, they can take note of the session Id displayed in the message and navigate to the record locking tool. From here, they can simply enter the number in the ID field – this will display the employee linked to the session.


How to Identify and Clear a Record Lock

  1. Navigate to: Moveware > Administration > Utilities > Record Locking Admin

  1. Select Show All Locks, and take note of the lock user information with PID.

  1. To kill the locked record

3.1 For Hosted Clients, open the Client Admin Tools and select option 2) Kill a User Process by providing the username from the lock user information identified above.

3.2 For Non-Hosted Clients, open the Task Manager on the server and click on Details tab. Locate the PID you get from No.2 and click ‘End task’.
