Jobs – Costing Interface

How to Access the Costing Tab

  1. Click the “Jobs” menu

  2. Search and select the job you’re looking for.

  3. Click on the Costing tab.

The Costing Tab Interface

The screen is visually divided into 2 main sections:

  1. Top Section (Summary of Available Cost Options)

Provides an overview of all available costing options. Each costing option is labelled with a number under the “Opt” (Option) column.

From here, we can get a quick overview of all available costing options. We have the cost option description, the customer (also referred to as the “debtor”) or whomever is paying for the costing option (if available, this information will populate automatically from the Bill To section of the Details Tab), and the set currency of the costing option.

  1. Bottom Section (Costing Sheet for the Selected Cost Option)

If we select an option, the bottom half of the screen will populate with the costing sheet. The costing sheet is a collection of cost lines that detail all costs associated with the selected option – in this case, an Export Full Container Load. The costing sheet for an individual job will change depending on the costing option you have selected.

The green lines act as a visual cue to break up costing lines into specific categories or groups.

The remaining grey and white lines are where we can enter numbers.  To enter a number into a specific field, simply click on it.

The pink line (or the “Option Total” line) will provide you with the cost option total; in other words, the sum of all cost lines above it.

Any lines that fall below the red line will be tacked onto the cost option as “extras,” and will be displayed as extras in the final printed quote.

The Columns

The costing sheet itself is divided into the following main sections, which are groupings of one or more columns, as you can see in the image above. These column groupings define the following:

The Buttons

Buttons above the options section will affect the options as a total.  Buttons above the costing sheet section will affect each individual line selected within the costing sheet.
