Online Quote – Quotation Update Required
Re-generating an Expired Online Quote URL link
As mentioned in the article Send Online Quote, the online quote link will expire after a pre-set number of days (usually 30 days). After this period the link is no longer active and therefore the client will no longer be able to access the quotation online. The figure below is an example of what your client will see if the quote has expired.
When this is the case and if the client requests you to re-set the link or raise an error with the link, the process to follow is the same as to create a new Online Quote (see figure below).
Note that the new Diary Action will generate a new link (the previous one will not work anymore) and the link’s validity period will restart from the date you created the Diary Action.
Re-quoting
A client may request re-quoting of their services.
When clicking on the blue tick (complete action) on an existing Diary Action that already has been completed (date is not blank), you will be prompted with the following window.
If you click Yes: the Diary Action will go from green Completed to black Not Completed.
Clicking on the blue tick again will return the ‘Complete Action’ prompt with the ‘Update Date and Time’ checkbox option, which will generate a new token and URL for the client to access their online quote. If you click No: there will be no change to the Diary Action.
If the date of the Diary Action is not reset (you will be prompted when completing), then the validity period of the quote remains the same and the URL link will remain the same.
If the date of the Diary Action is reset (re-complete with reset of date), then the validity period restarts from the date of the reset and a new URL token is created.
