Add a New Foreign Currency Journal

Add a New Foreign Currency Journal

Moveware has the capability to enter general journals with a foreign currency. In order to do this the system parameter AllowForeignCurrencyGJ must be set to Y.

When this is set to Y users will be able to select foreign currency accounts in General Ledger Journals. When this happens they can only select one foreign currency per journal. They are able to select multiple account of the same foreign currency, but the journal may only be in 1 foreign currency.

When adding a new journal the currency of the journal is determined by the currency assigned to the accounts. If one of the accounts selected is in a foreign currency then the journal will set to that foreign currency. If users attempt to add a different foreign currency they will not be able to as there may only be 1 foreign currency used for one journal.

Note. If currency rounding is an issue then select the Disable Conversion checkbox and enter in amounts manually.
