Inventory Management – Crates
The Crates type of the Inventory Management module allows for a company to define all the types of Crates typically used during standard operation.
Overview of Fields
Field | Description |

Type | A dropdown box to select the Inventory type. Click on the down arrow next to the type field and select Crate. |
Crate Type | The Crate code or name. |
Description | A brief description of the Crate. |
Make
| The make of the Crate. |
Supplier | The Supplier of the Crate. |
Owned By | The Owner of the Crate. |
Cost Type | N/A |
Size | The physical dimensions of the Crate. |
Volume (or Weight) | The volume or weight of the Crate. For systems that display weights, there is a toggle next to the field to view Volume. |
Status | Active or Inactive. |
Branch | The branch that the Crate type belongs to. |
Cost Centre | The Cost Centre to apply to the Crate, if applicable. |
G/L Code | The G/L Code to apply to the Crate, if applicable. |
Date Acquired | The date the Crate type was purchased. |
Costing Item | N/A – set to N. |
Template | N/A – set to N. |
Hire | N/A – set to N. |
Default Calc Type | Double click to choose how the rate is calculated e.g. Hourly, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Unit |

Cost Rate | The Cost Rate for the Crate. |
Sell Rate | The Sell Rate for the Crate. If you have different Sell Rates for different Customers, use the Charge Rates tab to add multiple rates. |

Display Branches | Leave blank if all branches should see this Crate in their list. Double click and choose specific branches who should be able to use this Crate. |
Display Cost Centres | Leave blank if the Crate should be available for Jobs of all Cost Centres. Double click and choose specific Cost Centres if it should only be available for a limited type of Job(s). |
Comments | Enter relevant comments about the Crate. |
