To create an online quote, the process stays the same as currently. The Online Quote is produced from the costing tab. Below, an overview of the Quote setup process.
An Online Quote will display cost options where:
For a costing quotation, sell price has been locked (column ‘C’ set to value ‘P’) and its status is Pending (column ‘St’ set to value ‘P’),
The option has been selected from the Select Options popup (see Send Online Quote article).
In a nutshell, in case of multiple costing options, and you wish to only display one, or select some, in Online Quote webpage:
you should select the ones you want in the pop-up,
or unlock the sell price (reverse costing status),
or set status as cancelled.
Key differences of an Online Quote versus a PDF or Word sent to a client:
An Online Quote is a live webpage connected to your system. In contrast with when you produce a quotation as an attachment, which will not change, the Online Quote is a live representation from your system. This means ANY changes you do to a pending cost option will immediately be visible online, if the link is still active (see link expiry point below) and the costing option is locked.
All pricing elements and quotation details displayed online are fed from the cost option details and NOT from the job. This means you should ensure your Job type setup contains all the information you wish to include in a quotation. You can also manually update these with one off note you wish to communicate on any given quotation (see figure below).
