General Ledger account balances and transactions can be viewed by navigating to: General Ledger > Inquiry > Accounts tab. 

Account records are listed in order of account number and grouped under heading accounts. Account balances are also displayed, comparing current balances to the previous year (Last Year) and the established budget (Budget). Accounts are listed in order on the left-hand side of the screen. As accounts are selected, its Period details will display on the right-hand side of the screen. 


How to View an Account Balance

  1. Navigate to General Ledger > Inquiry in the main menu. All account records are automatically displayed in the Accounts tab.

  2. The account records may be filtered with the filter boxes and drop down lists at the top of the tab (see Searching Records).

  3. The list of accounts may be limited to a specific General Ledger period and year.

  4. Select the Show Zeros checkbox to display accounts with zero balances.

  5. Select the Total Headings checkbox to display the totals for all accounts under each heading account.

  6. If a selected account is a Posting account, the balances of the current and previous years are displayed at the right of the tab in the Account Period Balances and Budgets section.


How to View a Period Transactions

  1. Double click the row of a period, e.g. Dec 10 or 13th Per or highlight the row and select the Detail tab. All journals posted in the period are displayed.


How to View a Journal Details

  1. Double click a journal in the Detail tab. The G/L Journal Details window displays the amounts, details and accounts of transactions in the journal.
