When creating a new job, it is possible to copy (and modify, if desired) an existing job file. This helps to expedite the process of filling out information for a job that is identical to or similar to another. In addition, copying a job also allows the creation of linked jobs through the creation of “sequenced” job files.
For example: if you create a copy of Job 10003, the first copy of that job can be linked as a sequenced job file as Job 10003A. The next sequenced copy would be Job 10003B, and so on.
If you would like to copy a job but do not want it linked with the original job, simply click New [
] instead of Sequence. How to Copy a Job
Navigate to the Jobs Management module in the main menu.
Select the job you would like to copy and navigate to the Details tab.
Click the Copy button from the Moveware Smart Panel.
Select Sequence or New.
a. If you would like to link the new job to the original, select Sequence. Enter the desired sequence number (an alphabetical sequence added to the job number to differentiate between job options) and click OK.
b. If you would like to create an un-linked job, select New.
Select the items from Inventory and Costing to be copied or moved to the new job.
Select Copy Addresses to keep the origin and destination information of the original job.
Update the Status of the new job.
Add or modify additional information as required and click Save.
Sequence Numbers
If Sequence (Linked) is not selected, a brand new job number will be generated and the new job will not be linked to the original.
If a sequence letter is entered, then the new job will be saved as the original number with the sequence letter added; it will also be linked to the original job. Sequences can be any letter of the alphabet from A to Z.
