Once a job has been completed, Moveware gives you the option to mark it as complete and effectively “close the job” in the system. While the job and its associated details will still be accessible to you, closing a job is helpful for record keeping purposes and to quickly identify open/closed jobs when reviewing job records.
How to Close a Job
To close a job, the job must be fully Invoiced and the shipment status must be updated and dispatched.
Click on the Jobs menu.
Select the job you would like to close from the Search tab.
Click on the blue check mark [
] at the top-right corner of the job records.
Important note: Depending on your settings, it may be mandatory to have actioned all diary actions before you are able to close a job. Please check with your Moveware System Administrator if you run into difficulties.
What happens to closed/completed jobs?
A closed flag is added (C = Y, closed/completed = yes) to the closed job.
Closed jobs will no longer display in the search tab of the Jobs Management module. This is because, by default, the Completed/Closed Column is set to N. Changing this value to Y will display both open and closed jobs. Closed jobs will display in grey while active jobs will display in black, making them easy to identify visually [refer to image 2].
Users can continue to report against open and closed jobs [refer to image 3].
Costing and invoicing screens for the closed job will be locked.
Closed jobs are still visible and manageable by the accounting department as needed.
